This Belfast blogger's post about the difference between social media and real life is going viral

“It’s OK to have an off day where your body just decides not to play ball.”

BELFAST FITNESS BLOGGER Tiffany Brien usually posts about working out and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

But last week she took a detour from her usual posts to talk about something a bit less glamorous:

Brien explained that the two photos above were taken 12 hours apart, one when she went to sleep and one when she woke up.

“No, I’m not six months pregnant. It’s just my food baby…”

We are not all what we seem on social media. I thought I would share a bad day with you to show nobody is ‘perfect’ and it is OK to have an off day where your body just decides not to play ball. It is a delightful cocktail of lack of sleep, stress, hormones and food intolerances. A mixture for a whole lotta bloat.
On an evening out for dinner in a lovely tight dress, I could be halfway into my main course and I suddenly feel uncomfortable and really unattractive with a big bloated belly.

In the full post (which you can read here) she says she’s still trying to work out what the cause of the bloating is, but feels she’s making progress.

“I am in no way perfect. In fact I am miles away from being a role model when it comes to looking after myself fully in this sense,” she said.

Her post has been shared over 4,200 times on Facebook so far, and users are praising her for being honest about her difficult days:
